Where we are

Just glancing out of the windows onto Place Vendôme is enough to transport you through history, starting in 1698, when Louis XIV, the Sun King, commissioned Jules Hardouin-Mansart to create a grandiose space in Paris especially for royal events.

Since then, many stories remain hidden behind numbers and facades: at No. 12, the pianist Fryderyk Chopin lived and died; at No. 13, the Hôtel de Bourvaillas is home to the Ministry of Justice, which also features a marble metre on its façade, designed to introduce Parisians to the new unit of measurement during the French Revolution; and finally, at No. 15, stands the historic Hotel Ritz, which has welcomed many illustrious guests since opening in 1898, from Charlie Chaplin through to Lady Diana.

Over the centuries, the best jewellery houses, the most renowned boutiques and international investment brokers have opened their ateliers here, and there is therefore no shortage of stories, including that of American artist Keith Haring, who died in 1990 in New York and whose ashes were partly scattered here by Yoko Ono.
