Christmas in Puglia is an explosion of events, from the Valle d'Itria to Salento: majestic Christmas trees, enchanting lights illuminating squares and buildings, Christmas carols, workshops for all ages, artisan markets, carousels, and exciting moments. Locorotondo celebrates the “Fairy Tale of Christmas” with shows and entertainment for all ages; in Martina Franca, Christmas markets and concerts create a festive atmosphere; in Ostuni, the “White Christmas” event takes place, in Putignano, “Lights in the Village” brighten the streets, while in Monopoli, “Christmas Destination” offers immersive installations, shows, events, and surprises for all ages. Gallipoli hosts the “Wonder Christmas Land” until January 6th, a Christmas village set up in the Galleria dei Due Mari at Castello Angioino, offering an enchanting and fun-filled journey; in Ruffano, “InCanto di Natale” transforms the village into a Christmas wonderland, while in Melpignano, in the Greek Salento, “Children in Celebration” offers a variety of activities, including games, readings, crafting Christmas decorations, bands playing through the streets, and on December 28th, “Tastes of Tradition, the Flavor of the Sacred” at the Palazzo Marchesale, where an anthropologist will narrate the ritual foods of the festive season. In Otranto, the “Dawn of the Peoples” is a much-anticipated event that celebrates the start of the new year on December 31st with celebrations and concerts in the old town, before heading to Punta Palascìa Lighthouse to witness the breathtaking and auspicious sunrise over the sea, at the easternmost point of Italy.
