An unmissable exhibition in Lecce, from October 19 to January 5, 2025, is Puglia Seen Through the Lens of Magnum Photographers, curated by Walter Guadagnini. The Biscozzi | Rimbaud Foundation opens its doors to an emotional journey that, through 35 photographs by 12 great masters of photography, tells the authentic soul of immortal Puglia, from its breathtaking landscapes to the silent stories and faces of its inhabitants. This exhibition is a window into time, from the end of the war to the present day, weaving between black and white and vivid colors, between memory and modernity. The images of David Seymour, Herbert List, and David Hurn bring us back to the post-war revival, when life in Puglia was made up of simple gestures and ancient trades. In contrast, the color photographs by Ian Berry and Burt Glinn capture the timeless beauty of nature and Puglia's architecture, with a keen eye for the unique details of the region. Returning to the black and white works of Bruno Barbey, Stuart Franklin, and Guy Le Querrec, we see the trades related to the sea and the land. Martin Parr’s images, with his sharp irony, capture the face of tourist Puglia, while Patrick Zachmann and Harry Gruyaert offer us glimpses of everyday life, suspended between nostalgia and poetry. The visual narrative by Ferdinando Scianna, who has explored Puglia for over thirty years, completes this emotional tapestry, celebrating a land caught between past and present that never ceases to fascinate. www.fondazionebiscozzirimbaud.it
