Until September 22nd, the Pino Pascali Foundation hosts the extraordinary exhibition "Lighthouses and Towers of the Secret Fire", curated by Christian Caliandro and Nicola Zito, born from the CoHeN-Coastal Heritage Network project, which has enabled the restoration of three lighthouses and three towers from Gargano to Salento, creating a new Adriatic-Ionian coastal route: Torre San Felice in Vieste, Torre Pietra in Margherita di Savoia, Torre Calderina in Molfetta, Faro di San Cataldo in Bari, Faro di Punta Palascìa in Otranto, and Torre-Faro Carlo V in Torre San Giovanni (Ugento). An immersive experience exploring the symbolism and magic of these six emblematic locations. The works created by contemporary artists Gea Casolaro, Serena Fineschi, Claudia Giannuli, Francesco Lauretta, Isabella Mongelli, and Virginia Zanetti capture the mystical essence of the silent sentinels that have guided sailors through stormy waters for centuries. The installations evoke the solitude and strength of these sites in an almost magical play of lights and shadows. Each artist has explored geographical, historical, and cultural aspects through various mediums: from painting to sculpture, from installation to video, from photography to performance. Maria Grazia Salvatori's luminous sculptures seem to dance in the darkness; Gea Casolaro reflects on the cultural role of the sea with backlit aluminum letters; Luca Moretti's photographs capture the grandeur of the lighthouses at twilight; while Virginia Zanetti celebrates the memory of salt extraction work in Margherita di Savoia. Every corner is an invitation to reflection, a silent dialogue between man and nature.
