An extraordinary journey through eras, cultures, and inspirations with the Balletto del Sud, one of Italy’s most important dance companies, presenting visionary performances. The journey begins on April 5th at the Teatro Piccinni in Bari with Wassily B3 / Ekphora / Effetto Lazarus, a triptych dedicated in the first part to the Bauhaus movement with the famous chair designed by Marcel Breuer and dedicated to Wassily Kandinsky, accompanied by Skrjabin’s music; in the second part, to the poignant poetry of Sergej Yesenin set to Chopin’s march, and in the third, to the studies of Robert Cornish, the scientist who tried to bring the dead back to life, with Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre. The music will be performed by the talented pianist Scipione Sangiovanni. The magic continues on April 13th at the Teatro Van Westerhout in Mola di Bari with “From Italy, with Love”, a celebration of Italian music from opera with famous works by Verdi, Rossini, Mascagni, alongside songs by Mina, Battiato, Vecchioni, Lauzi, to evoke emotions with lightness and wonder. Then Paris, with “Gaîté Parisienne” on stage in Lecce at the Teatro Apollo on April 26th and 27th, where the sparkling atmospheres of the Belle Époque come to life with waltzes and Can-Can. Finally, a double event: Il Carnevale degli Animali and Beatles Songs (May 10th and 11th in Lecce), where pieces dedicated to animals and theatrical creatures with music by Camille Saint-Saëns and the energy of the Liverpool band, reinterpreted by Luciano Berio and performed by the Oles Orchestra, create a unique experience. https://www.ballettodelsud.it/
